Welsh Landscape painted with a Teaspoon

Apply titanium white raw onto the stretched canvas.

Then start to mix in small quantities of Ultramarine blue and the titanium white acrylics. As there is water in this painting there is also reversed clouds in the lower half of the canvas.

Some pre mixing was done on the palette. Tree trunks are suggested by using a bottom side loaded spoon in a vertical down stroke.

Building up the back to middle ground trees across the canvas. Tree trunks blocked in with Paynes Gray then highlights to mark the direction of light.

Getting closer to adding the river and reflections soon a bit more background foliage and bank details, rocks etc.

I have blocked in the main tree on the left ready to detail it once the background is finished.

Almost ready for the water and reflections.

Started on the river and reflections today. I am using downward vertical strokes for colour application and horizontal strokes with the side edge of the teaspoon for the basic water movements.

Here is the finished painting,

River Llugwy Betws y Coed 80x60cm

Painted with a teaspoon.
