Acrylic on block canvas 60 X 80 cm or 23.5 X 31.5 inch.
I am painting this from a photograph and it is very kindly provided by Pam Mullins. Thank you Pam.
I created a base colour of varying shades of blue to cover the whole canvas and sides of the canvas painting in the moon with mainly white.
Only three colours will be used for this painting Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue and Paynes Grey.
I am creating the highlights and clouds with finger painting. Simply using the tip of one finger to move the paint in circular motions. Varying shades of colour have been used as you can see.
I have extended the clouds further with finger painting and also redefined the Moon outline and mixture of colours. When doing the Moon I have been leaving the Eagle outline white for easier painting later on.
The Eagle is being painted in with Paynes Gray. Carefully building up the outline as I go with a detail brush then blocking in the main body area with a bigger brush.
I continued with Paynes Gray to complete this painting. It is now finished and posted in the Wildlife gallery. Thank you for viewing this demonstration.

This is the finished work mainly done with finger painting.
